I've been tempted by this for a while... nice selection of bikes, especially if just for weekend hooning. Don't think it would be any cheaper owning them and having to service/maintain them over the same time period.

I have a feeling that some woman from Spyder club has posted on PH before.

The taster actually looks good value, 200 points will get you 5 trackday bikes and 20% discount at the circuit as well....worth looking into

Thanks for the links, seems a great way to ride something I wouldn't (couldn't) normally buy. Road bike selection seems a bit thin though, especially the group 3 stuff, but hopefully the fleet will expand.
Anyone on here actually a member?. I wonder how available the tastier bikes really are. Wouldn't be pleased if the 1198s was only available on rainy winter days.

Thanks for the thread Mitzy - it's good to get some feedback from non-members!
All I can say is bike availability is good and always will be - we aren't up to our full membership yet so our fleet will expand as we do! If I can help answer anything then let me know, and Mitzy at the moment I'm the only girl riding our bikes, so we need some more!!
I've emailed our members to see if any of them are on Pistonheads and if they will leave some (honest!) feedback for you.

If you were at Goodwood FOS, then we spoke to you - the biker chick I was with suggested you get a V-Rod on the fleet

Yes it was me at Goodwood - always working! There are lots of bikes that we'd like to get and we'll get more bikes with more members.
Good to get an idea of what people would like for the future though!

I've just started my second year of membership with Spyder Club & thought i'd share my experiences with you all.
I originally took up membership for the sole purpose of using their track bikes, after a particularly costly off at Mallory. After researching the cost difference between hiring a track bike V Spyder Club it made sense to sign up.
The added benefit of that was that i had access to a range of road bikes that I would not necessarily put in my garage at home - be it due to the cost of some italian 2 wheeled pornography, or that I wouldn't want to own a Harley or a Bonneville (even though i'd dearly love a go one one that stretches beyond a mere test ride).
I have to honestly say i've enjoyed every minute of it. There is a real club mentality that stretches well beyond the fact that this is a business. Mark and Lizzi are so accomodating (I even had them acting as pit crew on one of my track days at Donington!) and nothing is too much trouble for them when it comes to ensuring you have everything you need for maximum enjoyment when you are on one of their bikes.
Regarding concerns over availability - I have never had a problem stealing the 1198s off them, but after riding the RSV4 Factory for a few days last week i'd happily blow all my points on it to have it for the rest of the summer
I'm really bad at planning ahead, so the fact availability is good is a godsend to me.
The biggest problem is trying to decide what to ride, as I now have a wish list! New Spyder Club bikes keep coming into the fleet to keep interest up, and Mark and Lizzi work hard with manufacturers to gain access to "demonstrators" for the benefit of their members. For example, last year they had an RC8 from KTM on loan for us to try.
I appreciate this may sound like a lot of ass kiss, but i genuinely want their business to be a success. The more members they have, the more bikes arrive, and the choice widens for everyone.
Cheers Dave - Member No 009

How do you find the points system?. I tried figuring out how many days you could borrow various bikes, but it seems that the mileage limit would cause problems. You could have a bike for lots of days (mid week, off/low season), but couldn't ride it very far which sort of defeats the purpose of having it for multiple days. Just getting the bike home would eat into the mileage considerably. Not their fault I don't live closer of course.
