thesheephair said: AndyWoodall said: thesheephair said: right if i want to deal with applecare i will deal on phone with them direct Smart idea, as opposed to posting on internet forums on how to best defraud a company. if you had an iphone ruined and it looked like it was dropped wouldnt you still want a replacement/repair as you deserved one but no one would believe you? That is bull. You asked on another thread about if heat was a possible reason, because you wanted a 'cover story.' Ie. the real reason is something else. Get lost and stop trying to get us in helping you commit fraud.

You mention that you thought "jail breaking" meant to take it out of the box, but, in this other forum post you actually respond to someone who had problems after jail breaking and you suggest that they restore your iPhone ( http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=40706... ). You clearly know what jail breaking really is, so that was a lie, as was everything else you have posted, except for you (or your Dad) dropping the phone. Unless you would so casually respond to a problem that someone encountered while simply TAKING SOMETHING OUT OF A BOX! You're really making this worse and turning it into an internet frenzy. The online community doesn't appreciate being scammed. If you had just said, "you caught me, it was stupid, i'm sorry" this would have all be over with a long time ago. Now you've involved blogs from all over the world and millions of readers. You'll have to abandon your emails addresses and user names and start anew. Although I hope it doesn't happen, I wouldn't be surprised if you receive some calls at your house or end up with a tonne of sternly worded emails. People have a knack for finding out all of your personal details. You still have a chance though. Apologize and things will calm down. It's not that hard.

It's not that hard. thread seems to have brought out the trolls, at least 2 people with only 1 post and those posts on this forum, looks like veiled threats to me on the last post feel pretty sure the trolls making threats are not bright enough to hide their ip address and the moderators will have this logged, time and ip address = 1 specific person

Posting by 'thesheephair' in December 2007 on another forum: Woah LOTS of inaccurate things going on in these forums, i personally own an iphone and an n95 8gb. Now when i first got them both the nokia beat the iphone hands down. However no i have the iphone jailbroken and i can do everything the Nokia can do apart from 3g. However running a couple of speed tests etc, turns out there is a roughly 3 - 5 second delay in the iphone loading a page compared to the nokia. I can foward txts now, record videos , send multiple txts, have gps (coming soon) ummm pretty much do it all now. Now that i can do all of that iphone wins hand down. Its not cheap no, but it is solidly built and is excellent, customer service from apple is terrific. Ok now if you buy a phone from uk atm, it comes with 1.1.2 , you downgrade jail break activate and upgrade it back, this enables you to use a payg simcard or a contract. However its limited to o2 only. When getting payg its up to you if you want internet on the go, if you do want it then its £7.50 bolt on for a data. If you get a contract you can still do a bolt on for £7.50 a month, you will have internet on the go. Overall the iphone is excellentay and will probally not turn to another phone now!

History has shown that the internet is a merciless place for people who get 'outed', particularly with technical things.

It wasn't a threat, it was a statement of fact. I said I wished it wouldn't happen to him, because I'm sure it would be quite intimidating. Don't you recall the internet backlash over the guy that stole someone's XBox 360 (http://blog.mcfearsome.com/2008/03/22/wow-your-a-moron/).
Also, I'm not a troll. I signed up to post on this specific forum, yes, But, I'm not trying to incite an incident - I'm trying to tell him how to diffuse one. If anything, the guy from the earlier post that claimed this scam artist was a "terrorist sympathizer" was the one trolling and going way overboard.

I am an AppleCare supervisor and, despite what all these clowns on this board are saying, I actually have seen a verified case of this before. If you'd like, you can email me your AppleCare case number, and I will put a note on the file that will get your repair expedited for you. How convenient.....

just spent the last 15 mins catching up on this thread. Some people just have no idea that there is this magical paper trail on the web that will bite you in the ass.
I think we have heard the last from this joker and his mystical apple care mate who I suspect has the same ip, name, mother and inside leg measurement.
Oh and I'm typing this on my iPhone!

did not read all 7 pages about some item i not own, just noted 2 posters who had the one post on this thread for the record got a nokia 1112 as want a phone and only a phone, plus a small one at that. Not got a mp3 player, hardly need it and 12 megapixel camera or a 2 mb phone one ? contract phones are imho a waste of money unless you use the full cost of the calls each month

many thanks to sheephair for livening up my otherwise boring lunchbreak.
Most entertaining.
As a service and parts supplier for the IT industry, I sincerely hope you get busted.
And as for creating a poster posing as an AppleCare supervisor, I hope ph hands over your ip credentials to apple so they can sue you.
It is people like you that drive my costs up, and cast doubt over genuine customers with real problems.
I have insurance to cover my iPhone if I accidentally drop it, that is what insurance is for.
Stop being a pikey
And please keep digging. I have another break in a few hours ...
